The other 2 words that sometimes make me confuse are "prefer" and "would rather". Let start.....
How to use "prefer" and "would rather"?
1) I prefer something to something else.
2) I prefer doing something to doing something.
3) I prefer to do something rather than (do) something else.
- I prefer a jar of coffee to a cup of tea.
- Tonight, I prefer staying at home to going out.
- I prefet to traveling to Beijing rather than travel to Osaka.
- I prefer to traveling to Beijing rather than to Osaka.
WOULD RATHER DO = WOULD PREFER TO DO
I would rather do something than do something else.
I would rather travel to Beijing than travel to Osaka.
The negative is "WOULD RATHER NOT DO SOMETHING"
I would rather not go to Osaka.
Have a very nice holiday's evening.
