Bring กับ Take ต่างกันอย่างไร

หลายๆคนคงสับสนว่าคำสองคำนี้ใช้ต่างกันอย่างไร มาดูกันดีกว่าค่ะ

การเลือกใช้คำระหว่าง bring หรือ take นั้นขึ้นอยู่กับจุดที่อ้างถึง (point of reference for the action) หรือจำง่ายๆก็ คือ

Bring shows movement toward the speaker: สิ่งของถูก bring มาหาผู้พูด

bring ----> speaker

Take shows movement away from the speaker: take ออกไปจากผู้พูด

speaker ----> take

ซึ่งยังมีคำอีกสองคำที่ใช้กฎเดียว กับ bring และ take นั่นก็คือ

come และ go นั่นเอง come เหมือนกับ bring
"you ask people to come here"
=คุณบอกให้ผู้อื่นมาหาที่นี่ มาหาที่ที่คุณอยู่

ส่วน go เหมือนกัน take
"you tell people to go away"
=คุณบอกให้ผู้อื่นไปจากที่นี่ ก็คือออกไปจากที่ที่คุณอยู่

ประโยคตัวอย่าง เช่น

- Please take the baby from her bed and bring her to me.

- If you want some tea, I'll be happy to bring a cup to you.

- If you're finished with your tea, I'll be be happy to take your cup to the kitchen.

- I'll be happy to take the cup from you and take it to the kitchen.

- Your father is in his office and his mail just came. Could you please take it to him? He's expecting you to bring it to him.
